Word to flashcards
Turn a Word document into cards without retyping your notes.
What works
WakeCards supports Word documents with text content, including .docx files. Headings, bullet lists, and paragraphs are read as text. Very complex layouts, embedded images, and text inside shapes may not come through cleanly. Text files (.txt) and Markdown (.md) files are also supported. Pasting text is not supported; upload the file instead.
How to get good cards
- Use real headings for sections. They give the generator clear boundaries.
- One topic per document works better than a whole semester in one file.
- Remove cover pages, tables of contents, and repeated headers before uploading.
- Review the generated cards and verify anything that reads like a summary instead of a question against your source.
Limits and credits
- Word documents with text content, including .docx. Text files and Markdown also supported.
- Maximum 10 MB per file, up to 500 pages or sections.
- 1 credit per 2,000-character section, including a partial section.
- Preview the cost first, then choose a smaller range if your credits are not enough.
- Larger documents may take longer. The server keeps processing after you close the tab.
- English documents produce English cards; Chinese documents produce Chinese cards.
What you get
Question-and-answer cards with an explanation, plus an everyday example and source snippets when available. You rate each card yourself after you try to recall it, and return to the deck manually. Check important facts against your source.
